Carbon Steel T-Square

Carbon Steel T-Square

The carpenter's square is also known as a steel square and is used for measurements, mainly right angles. The square consists of a long arm and a shorter arm, perpendicular to each other at exactly 90°.

The long arm is referred to as the square's blade and the shorter arm is referred to as the tongue when the carpenter's square is being used in joinery with timber structures.

The carpenter's square is used for:

  • The arrangement of beams according to a beam table.
  • The arrangement of treads and risers on a stringer when stairs are being framed.
  • Measuring and marking of joints and tenons in carpentry with wooden structures.
