These valves are used to hold and lock an actuator in position until pilot pressure is applied. A pilot controls flow in the opposite direction. The hand lever allows or stops flow between ports A2 and A1 and can also control the actuator. They are primarily used in hydraulic cylinders on truck cranes.
Connect the port of the actuator to be controlled to port A2 and the pressure to port A1.
The other actuator port and pilot pressure can be connected to ports U1 or U2.
