The Bentool SDT203 Car Smoke Leak Detector is a professional tool designed to efficiently detect leaks in the piping system of various vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, ATVs, and boats. This versatile device provides accurate and fast leak identification, making it an essential tool for automotive maintenance and repair.
Operational steps:
Air intake system test:
- Open the air filter cover and remove the air filter.
- Inflate the rubber bladder to match the diameter of the air inlet.
- Add 10 ml of test oil into the oil filler cap and tighten it.
- Turn on the power switch and activate the air mode and smoke mode buttons.
- Block the smoke nozzle and monitor the pressure gauge.
- Connect the smoke nozzle to the inflatable bladder when the pressure reaches 0.8 kg/cm2.
- Identify any smoke coming from the air intake system leak point.
EVAP System Test:
- Locate the carbon canister in the car and disconnect the fuel inlet/outlet line.
- Connect the special adapter for the EVAP system to the piping.
- Add 10 ml of test oil into the oil filler cap and tighten it.
- Turn on the power switch and activate the air mode and smoke mode buttons.
- Block the smoke nozzle and monitor the pressure gauge.
- Connect the smoke nozzle to the special adapter for the EVAP system when the pressure reaches 0.8 kg/cm2.
- Identify any smoke coming from the EVAP system leak point.
- Caution: Make sure there are no open flames while testing the EVAP system.
